Argentine Ants

The Argentine Ant (little brown ant) is the most common ant found in Southern California. Their nesting preference is in the soil but they frequently forge and invade structures looking for food/moister and shelter. These ants are not stinging insects but are a huge nuisance and can be a health issue as they often go unnoticed within food packaging.
Fire Ants

The red imported fire ant (dark reddish brown) infest numerous residential and commercial areas in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino Counties. The red imported fire ant’s sting is a serious concern to people and their pets. Venom injected into the skin causes a burning sensation (hence the name fire ant)
Pharaoh Ant

The Pharaoh Ant is a small (2 mm) yellow or light brown, almost transparent ant notorious for being a major indoor nuisance pest. Correct identification is imperative when it comes to ant control. Pharaoh Ants, unlike the common Argentine Ant, can not only travel but also nest within the walls of a structure. Special formulated baits are the best remedy for this ant and spray should be avoided at all times. Many have incorrectly identified this ant and have only made matters worse by spreading the infestation throughout the home by using liquid sprays.
